The Concept of Decanate or Sector :
|

| |
Before we explain and discuss the years which will be good or bad, it is necessary to explain the concept of decanate or sector. Each sign of the zodiac is divided into three parts of 10 degree each, called decanates or decans. Each sign also generally extends to thirty days. For more exact timings, we divide the sun sign into three sectors.

The theory behind these prognostications - the basis on which good or bad years have been indicated, would involve an in-depth knowledge of occult sciences and is beyond the scope of this book.

In other words, the twelve sun signs have been divided into thirty-six sectors. One sector is astrologically called a decanate; dekas or deca means ten. And each sector comprises about ten days as given in the table.
It will be observed that the junction dates at the end of one sector and the beginning of the next one are the same. For example, in Aries, sector 1 extends from March 21 to April 1 and sector 2 extends from April 1 to April 11. Here April 1 is included in both the sectors, 1 and 2. For such dates, which form the junction dates, i.e. the end of one sector and the beginning of the other sector, the results described for both sectors should be blended and mean arrived at.
