Tagore Jayanti: A Concert Celebration of Tagore’s Songs with musicians Shyamoshree Gupta Diamond and Rabrinda Sangeet. Rabindranath Tagore was one of India’s greatest poets, writers, musicians, and statesmen. The first Asian poet laureate, Tagore’s legacy lives on via his music and philosophy.  Songs will be sung in their original Bengali language, followed by a potluck luncheon and a showing of a documentary by Satyajit Ray titled Rabindranath Tagore. The film is provided courtesy of Satyajit Ray Archives housed at UC Santa Cruz, under the Directorship of Dr. Dilip and Mrs. Dayani Basu.
